Key duties and responsibilities

About the role

SCOTS PGC College is seeking a qualified and passionate English Teacher for a contract position based in Warwick. As an English Teacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping the educational experience of our secondary school students, fostering their love of language, literature, and communication.

This is a full-time, fixed-term role for Term 1, 2025.

What you'll be doing

  • Developing strong, professional relationships with your students.
  • Delivering engaging and effective English lessons aligned with the curriculum
  • Designing and implementing innovative lesson plans and teaching strategies
  • Assessing and providing constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth
  • Collaborating with the teaching team to share best practices and contribute to the overall educational objectives of the school
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to student progress and performance
  • Participating in professional development opportunities to continually expand your teaching expertise

What we're looking for

  • Demonstrated experience teaching English at the secondary school level
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Passion for education and a commitment to student-centric learning
  • Ability to create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools to enhance teaching and learning
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers
